FIRST IMPRESSIONS | Maple Holistics Tea Tree Shampoo

**Disclaimer!  I received a free sample of this product in exchange for giving you, the reader, a chance to get a free sample too.  All opinions, as usual, are completely my own.  Thanks!**

I was having one of those ways, well... weeks, where I didn't feel like washing my hair, which in turn leads to very itchy scalp.  I know...I know...not something you probably wanted to know, but I hope you read on...

Let me paint you a picture.  If you don't know: I have very curly hair (no. not curled.  actually spiral curls, that doesn't like to cooperate with me 95% of the time.) My hair is also dry, and because I like to use a flat iron, heat damaged.  Basically I need something that will help heal my hair from the scalp outwards.

When I got offered to try a free sample of this tea tree shampoo from Maple Holistics, naturally I was very curious.  I knew from previous products that tea tree is known for it's anti-inflammatory and soothing properties.  From the website, it stated that it: Promotes healthy hair growth, Can slow hair loss, shedding, and thinning hair, Helps prevent flaking and dandruff, Capable of soothing an irritated scalp, Potential to naturally eradicates lice, Leaves hair and scalp rejuvenated and fresh.  Those all sound really amazing...sign me up!

When the package arrived, I eagerly opened it and was very excited to wash my hair that night!

First impressions:  It does have a VERY strong smell.  I can see how it might be off-putting to some people, but I thought it smelled very natural. (Another really great thing that I found out about this brand is that they are a natural brand that is paraben free and cruelty free, which I think is absolutely amazing!!)  The look and texture is just like regular shampoo, nothing out of the ordinary.  And also, a little goes a long way...it gets quite foamy when you massage it into your scalp.

How it looks out of the bottle!

After I finished washing it out of my hair and conditioned, I wanted to see if I could feel a difference in my scalp/hair, after just that one time use.  I let my hair naturally air dry, and when it was time to straighten it, my hair felt. so. soft.  Like literally. Softer than it has felt in a long time!  And now, a couple of days later, as I'm writing this, my scalp has not itched once.  Even after that one time, I can already tell the difference with me hair.  This might just be my new favorite holy grail shampoo for when my hair needs a little TLC.
