The Fault in Our Stars Book Review

Okay...So I know I am probably about the only one who hadn't read this book by now but I recently saw the movie trailer for this book......Here it is if you haven't.....

and I finally made up my mind to read it.  And let me tell you...two words:  THE. FEELS.

I have never really  been an outwardly emotional person, but let me tell you, I was struggling to keep those tears in and the lady sitting next to me on the plane probably thought I was crazy!

The story begins with a sixteen year old Hazel Grace Lancaster who has Stage 4 thyroid cancer.  Her parents force her to go to a local cancer support group for other teens battling cancer.  It was here that she meets Augustus Waters.  Now I don't want to give away any spoilers so if you want to know what happens to Hazel and Augustus in their whirlwind adventure, you will need to pick up a copy of it for yourself.

This book had it all.  Although it was an imperfect love story, this imperfect romance is what makes this story so great.  It does not lightly paint over the details with a "cookie-cutter" idea of a love story.  There is sorrow, heart-break, grief but there is also joy, acceptance, and most importantly love. This novel really shows that love can really conquer any tragedy that one can be faced with.  It's just so great.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT

See you next time
